Being diagnosed with ankylosying spondylitis was the wake up call I needed.

Over 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, an incurable chronic inflammatory disease which results in joint inflammation in your neck, spine and SI joint. At this time it took me hours to wake up in the morning and I was unable to walk properly some days due to pain and stiffness in my back. I had to stop playing hockey for a time or do any physical activity. My bloodwork showed high levels of systemic inflammation and I was overweight. Given my scientific background in immunology, I began to start a research program to study the disease and set out on a journey to find solutions to manage my own pain, fatigue and inflammation. I started furiously researching everything I could and through some iterations, found a solution which worked for me. Within a year I had lost 50 pounds, had more energy, and had substantially reduced inflammation and pain. The side effect has been how much it changed my outlook on life from a mental health standpoint, confidence, energy, drive and purpose.

As people began to reach out to me to ask how I did it, I now feel it necessary to share the knowledge I’ve gained to help others manage their spondyloarthritis symptoms and reclaim their health.
